(November 12, 2021) — Rex Christensen, MHA, R.T.(R)(MR)(CT)(ARRT), CIIP, MRSO has been appointed to a three-year term on The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) Board of Trustees. He will fill a position being vacated by Christopher Meenan, B.S., CIIP.
Christensen serves as Associate Professor of Radiological Sciences for Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He has contributed to several scholarly and professional publications, and he lectures in the areas of digital imaging and 3D imaging. Christensen has worked in the Radiology field for more than 30 years, serving as a technologist in the fields of radiology, MRI, and CT. In addition, he’s been a PACS administrator, Radiology Manager and Director of Operations for a freestanding imaging center.
Christensen possesses substantial education experience. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in advanced radiologic sciences and a Master of Health Administration degree from Weber State University. He is completing a doctorate of philosophy in health care management from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He says he is looking forward to serving ABII as a Trustee. “I am proud to be a part of the imaging informatics profession, and I am dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the profession,” he says. “My fellow informatics professionals are some of the most dedicated and competent in the business. It is exciting to be a part of a growing and changing field that promotes high quality standards to improve technology and patient care.”
Trustee Christopher Meenan has completed two three-year Board terms, the maximum that ABII bylaws allow. He has served the ABII Board of Trustees as Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-Treasurer during his tenure.
