ABII Recognizes Two Winners in 2024 Excellence in Imaging Informatics Awards Program

St. Paul, Minn.– Nov. 4, 2024 – The American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) is proud to announce the two winners who earned honors this year in the Excellence in Imaging Informatics Awards program.

They are:

  • Hologic, Inc. – Inaugural Vendor category
  • Chris Miller - Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) category

“We're thrilled to honor both Chris Miller and Hologic this year,” says Kevin Lawrence, Director of the American Board of Imaging Informatics. "They are both making outstanding contributions to actively advance the profession and the CIIP credential.”

About the Winners

Hologic, Inc.

Hologic, a global leader in women's health, is recognized for their relentless pursuit of innovation in health care, significant contributions to the imaging informatics profession and their support for CIIPs. Hologic's achievements inspire others in the field to strive for excellence, ultimately benefiting patients and health care providers worldwide.

In 2022, Hologic's Technical Solutions Sales team made a recommendation to their leaders that all technical solutions specialists should be required to earn their CIIP credential. The requirement was introduced, and since then it has enhanced the team's ability to help customers achieve positive patient outcomes. Leveraging the CIIP credential has become an important part of Hologic's strategy, underscoring the company's commitment to professional excellence and continuous improvement to better serve their customers.

Chris Miller, CIIP

Chris's relentless pursuit of growth is evident in his journey to earn the CIIP credential. Recognizing that Kaiser Permanente, his employer, required the certification for advanced positions, Chris embraced the challenge. With support from local leadership and regional peers, he diligently prepared for the CIIP exam and passed with flying colors.

The CIIP credential opened new doors for Chris, leading to a promotion to his current lead role, where he now serves as a system architect, workflow engineer, and business analyst. As part of the regional leadership team, Chris provides direction for rolling out new technologies and planning the future of radiology.

Hari Lakshmanan, M.D., who nominated Chris for the ABII Excellence in Imaging Informatics award says, “Chris exemplifies the qualities of a top imaging informatics professional through his innovative spirit, commitment to growth and quality improvement, and passionate advocacy for the profession.”
